Mustangs win game, lose player to injury

Posted 9/21/16 (Wed)

South Border dominated Region 3 rival Center/Stanton for a 30-2 nine-man football victory Friday in Wishek.

But it was a costly triumph for the Mustangs, who lost senior running back/linebacker Cole Ketterling for the season with a broken leg.

"Cole got hurt at at a tough time in the game," said South Border head coach Gus Schlepp. "We had more than two quarters left to play and (Center/Stanton) was still within striking distance.

"The guys were able to hold things together long enough to win the game. Being without Cole is a big blow, though. He's a leader, both on and off the field, as well as a good example and role model for our younger players."
