Ready for winter? How about winter for a cause?

The Wishek Hospital and Clinics Foundation annual fundraiser, set for Nov. 4 at the Wishek Civic Center, offers a chance to enjoy the sparkle and glimmer of winter, without the cold.

Tickets, priced at $60 per person, are still available through Oct. 28 at the Wishek, Kulm, Napoleon and Gackle clinics. They also may be obtained by contacting foundation board members Tammy Rohweder (321-9943), Trina Schilling (452-2143), Kay Rau (452-2431), Felicia Sampson (851-0433), Harry Hagel (329-0148) or Polly Benson (452-2874).

This year’s fundraising theme is “Winter Wonderland." It will include all the usual accoutrements, plus more.

Don your best winter glam and join the social hour, starting at 5 p.m. Be sure to bring a supply of $5 bills to purchase roulette tickets for a chance to win an assortment of prizes, each valued at about $50.

Luminaries will be offered at $5, as part of a special remembrance ceremony to honor friends and neighbors we have lost.

A catered dinner begins at 6:30 p.m., with a deliciously tempting menu of roasted pork loin, baby red potatoes, glazed carrots and bread — concluding with snowball cupcakes for dessert.

Sparkling wine will be served during the social hour and dinner from a champagne fountain. A cash bar will be available as well.

The popular silent auction is sure to tempt you to open your wallet or pocketbook for the cause.

Divas Through the Decades" will provide after-dinner entertainment, with a musical tribute of song selections made popular by female entertainers from the 1940s to current hits.

The show features music made famous by various divas, including Tina Turner, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Gloria Estefan, Madonna, Beyonce, Shania Twain, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and others.

Expect a stage show filled with electrifying vocals, cutting-edge choreography, great costume changes, and a high-energy performance second to none.

Not only will those who attend the foundation fundraiser experience iconic music and incredible singing and dancing, they'll also enjoy comedic touches and audience participation.

Tammy Rohweder, board chairwoman, wants to remind everyone of the reason behind the foundation's annual fall gala.

"The WHCA Foundation appreciates your generous financial support to provide additional funding for patient care-related equipment," Rohweder says.

"It can become needed unexpectedly and it's not necessarily planned for in the hospital's annual budget.

"Your contributed dollars continue to ensure vital health services in our community now and for future generations."
