Wishek JDA reports $300,000 provided for business development since 2010

The Wishek Job Development Authority has provided nearly $300,000 in financial support for local businesses during the last seven years. Harry Hagel, the city''s interim economic development coordinator, has compiled a summary of JDA activity from 2010-17. The support includes $117,000 in loans, $101,242 in interest buy-downs, $62,885 in business opportunity grants, $7,709 in lot development funds, and $5,447 in signage grants, for a grand total of $294,283.

Hagel says the JDA already has committed an additional $44,173 through 2021.

The information summary will be used as a starting point in formulating a three-year action plan for the future of the JDA, he adds.
