Wishek Association of Commerce officials plan to attend next week's City Council meeting to ask for assistance with the group's flower basket project.

Kelly Brown, who serves as president of the association, addressed the situation in a recent letter to business owners and association members.

"Flower baskets provide an inviting and clean first impression for outside travelers and add to our hometown feel for all who reside here," Brown said in the letter.

"We are not ending this project, but are asking for help, suggestions and creative ways (of funding it.)"

The council meeting is set for 7 p.m. Feb. 6 at City Hall.
