City Council members held a special meeting Thursday to review an updated version of the Wishek ordinance book.

Auditor Mary Wald said the revised book includes a mixture of longstanding local statutes and model ordinances based on the North Dakota Century Code that were provided by the N.D. League of Cities.

A couple of weeks ago, City Council members were given copies of the proposed ordinance changes, so they could read them and make notes for the special meeting.

"A lot of what's been done is just noticing and correcting spelling errors, or replacing outdated and unclear language," Wald said.

There have been additions and minor changes over the years, but Wald said it's been many years since the city ordinance book — which includes more than 200 pages — was given a full-blown revision.
